AWE Cameroon 2023 is implemented in partnership with Valerie Neim, alumna of the U.S. government-funded International Visitor Leadership Program. The program will unlock the potential of 50 aspiring and early-stage women entrepreneurs by offering them training, mentorship, advice, and practical skills needed to create sustainable businesses. The program is free for the selected 50 participants.
Eligibility criteria for applicant registration:
- Be a Cameroonian female residing in Cameroon,
- Be between the age of 18-30 at the time of the application,
- Be currently pursuing a university level degree or have recently obtained one,
- Be an aspiring entrepreneur with a feasible business idea or an early-stage entrepreneur with less than 2 years of experience running a business.
AWE uses a hybrid model that combines the online platform DreamBuilder (developed through a partnership between Arizona State University’s Thunderbird School of Global Management and global copper mining company Freeport-McMoRan) with in-person mentoring and facilitation. AWE Cameroon participants will have opportunities to explore the fundamentals of business, such as preparing business plans and raising capital, and discuss with experienced business people, mentors, and U.S. government sponsored exchange alumnae.
