April 22, 2022

Location:  Northwest and Southwest Regions

Event:  Recent information circulated on social media in Cameroon calls for an increase in violent attacks in the Northwest and Southwest Regions of Cameroon and expresses anger at the international community.  The State Department’s latest Travel Advisory for Cameroon recommends that U.S. citizens do not travel to the Northwest and Southwest Regions due to armed separatist activity that has led to increased levels of violence.  The U.S. government has limited ability to provide emergency services to U.S. citizens in these regions due to current official travel restrictions.
