Ambassador Barlerin Visits Public Health Emergency Operations Center Construction Site

On July 4, Ambassador Barlerin visited the Public Health Emergency Operations Center construction site with the Minister of Health. The project, funded by the Defense Threat Reduction Agency, through the Global Health Security Agenda (implemented through USAID and CDC), will be completed this October. Once open, the facility will increase the Cameroonian government’s ability to detect, and respond to public health emergencies, and provide health assistance to Cameroonians, particularly the most vulnerable populations.

The Center will also coordinate with Public Health Emergency Operations Centers in other countries to improve global health security.
