Cameroonian Students Return from High School Exchange Program in the U.S.

U.S. Embassy Acting Public Affairs Officer Nitza Sola-Rotger with YES Students

Members of our Public Affairs team traveled to Buea to meet Cameroonian students who attended high school in the United States for a year as part of the prestigious Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study (YES) program.  During the welcome back ceremony, returning students shared highlights of their American experience with an audience of family members and other students.  The returning students said they enjoyed spending time with their American host families and experiencing a new culture.  Some of them had the opportunity to travel with their host families within their home states or to other regions of the United States.  During the event, attended by Ministry of Secondary Education Technical Adviser Paul Ebone, the audience had the opportunity to meet the new group of YES scholarship recipients, composed of nine students hailing from Buea secondary schools.  What an exciting opportunity, don’t you think?
