The U.S. Embassy in Yaounde is launching the “Afternoon Movie” program beginning in December 2015 at its auditorium two Wednesday afternoons per month beginning in December. During each showing, the embassy will screen one of the 100 greatest American movies of all time as ranked by the American Film Institute (AFI). The movies were chosen from a list of 400 nominated films compiled by AFI, which selected what it considers 100 historically greatest American movies. These films were nominated by screenwriters, directors, actors, producers, cinematographers, editors, executives, film historians and critics.
The films will be screened starting 2:30 pm on both Wednesdays. To view the films you have to register at the front desk of the American Embassy Information Resource Center (IRC), calling the IRC at Phone: (237) 22220 1500, Ext. 4340, or send an e-mail providing your name at Yaoundeirc2@state.gov at least two days prior to the screening day. The schedule and titles of the films to be screened can be obtained from the IRC and will also be posted on the the U.S. Embassy’s website https://cm.usembassy.gov/. Facebook, and Twitter pages.
