“I am delighted to be here with a delegation from Washington, D.C. as well as from Stuttgart. With the Minister for External Relations, we discussed a wide range of bilateral issues, particularly in the security domain.  We discussed the threat of violent extremism and the support that we provided to assist Cameroon over time and our projections into the future.  We assessed recent development in northern Cameroon with respect to Boko Haram and the growing strength of the region’s response, including the establishment of the Multinational Task Force around Lake Chad. We will work to support the Joint Task Force as established. We will continue to work very strongly on a bilateral basis as we have over time with Cameroon as well as with other partners of the Lake Chad Basin.  Longstanding cooperation between Cameroon and the U.S. really extends from North to South and from South to North.”
