Kadji Sport Academy invites LA Galaxy to Cameroon

On June 1, 2017, U.S. Embassy welcomed Jovan Kirovski, Technical Director or the LA Galaxy soccer team. Jovan visited Cameroon in order to finalize the details of a partnership with one of Cameroon’s finest sports academies, the Kadji Sport Academy. He was accompanied to the U.S. Embassy by Mr. Olliver Kadji (KSA), the director of the KSA, as well as Maxime Fochive, the athletic manager of the academy. During a meeting with Cultural Affairs Officer Nitza Sola-Rotger and EducationUSA Adviser Richard Ewane, they laid out their plan for a fruitful partnership between KSA and LA Galaxy – one that would provide exciting new opportunities to Cameroonian youth by combining the best athletic preparation with an increased focus on studies. Mr. Kadji stated that it is important for parents who have talented kids to feel confident that even if their kids are unable to join a professional team, they will be able, through this partnership, to get greater access to academic opportunities. Mr. Kirovski noted that Cameroon has a great soccer nation and it would be a pleasure to help these students develop these gifts. We applaud this initiative and are excited about the opportunities this will provide to the Cameroonian youth!
