Major General Williams Visits Cameroon

Major General Darryl A. Williams, Commanding General, U.S. Army Africa (USARAF), recently visited Cameroon to meet officials and Cameroonian military counterparts.

On November 2 the Major General Williams visited the International Superior School of War (Ecole Supérieure Internationale de la Guerre – ESIG), where he was welcomed by ESIG Commandant Major General Essaie Ngambou. He also faculty, staff, and class members from different nations in Africa, the United States of America, and France.

In his remarks, General Williams underscored the strong partnership between the United States, the Republic of Cameroon, and Lake Chad Basin nations to promote regional security. He commended Cameroon’s leadership in defense of its security and that of its citizens, adding: “I look forward to increasing our relationship and our partnership. We are here to partner with Cameroonians at the request of the Cameroonian government and others in the region to help defeat Boko Haram. This is a fantastic institution with a great staff,” he said.
