More Women in STEM: What can Teachers Do?

On Wednesday, December 12, 2018, a group of alumni of various U.S.G. exchange programs facilitated a one-day workshop in Yaounde on the theme “Creating Supportive Learning Environments for Girls and Boys in STEM.” This teacher’s professional development workshop brought together some 40 educators from the Centre Region to foster their skills on developing gender inclusive learning in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). The workshop included sessions on gender inclusive learning, teacher leadership, lesson planning and U.S.G. exchange programs. This was one of the ten regional projects of this year’s Mission Driven Alumni Outreach (MDAO) for Cameroon funded by the Department of State and administered by the Mandela Washington Fellows Cameroon (MWF-C) Association
