Security Alert – U. S. Embassy Yaoundé, Cameroon (9 November, 2018)

Location:  Cameroon

Event:  Major airlines are threatening to suspend flights into and out of Yaoundé’s Nsimalen International Airport starting November 15 due to a failure to come to agreement over security screening procedures with the Cameroon Civil Aviation Authority.  No U.S. carriers fly into or out of Nsimalen International Airport.

Actions to Take:

  • Have travel documents up to date and easily accessible.
  • Have a plan to travel to Douala if you need to undertake international travel.
  • Monitor local media for updates.
  • Arrange travel plans to mitigate risk of potential disruption.
