YALI Impact Symposium Highlights Youth Contribution in Promoting Peace

On February 17, 2018, close to 500 youths from all 10 regions of Cameroon gathered in the Conference Center in Yaounde for the second edition of the YALI Impact Symposium. Hosted by the Mandela Washington Fellows Association of Cameroon, the day-long event, focused on “Youth Engagement in Promoting Peace through Dialogue and Social Entrepreneurship.” In his opening remarks, Ambassador Peter Barlerin congratulated the YALI fellows for achieving and exceeding the high expectations set out for them.  “You are taking concrete steps to shape the future of your communities, the future of Cameroon, and the future of the world,” he told them. “For you to make a difference in life, you need to think positively and act rationally.  You need to continue to take advantage of all available opportunities to enhance your skills and be at the service of your community.” Full speech: https://cm.usembassy.gov/2018-yali-impact-symposium-remarks-ambassador-peter-barlerin/
